Looking For New York Elopement Packages?

Whether you are on a strict budget or just want to skip the fuss and stress of planning a large wedding, many couples are choosing to elope.  Just like traditional weddings, wedding and elopement packages are becoming more available.  So, what should you look for in an elopement package?  Here are a few tips:

1. Destination: Look for a place you would choose as a honeymoon, and elope there!  A great all inclusive elopement package will offer special discounts and exclusive offers for eloping couples who “upgrade” to a honeymoon package.  These deals may include suite upgrades, free breakfast, special dinners, spa packages, or activity allowances.

2. Packages: When searching for an elopement package, you may find small inns or bed & breakfasts that will perform your ceremony as part of a package deal. These packages may include a stay in a honeymoon suite, a small wedding cake, light appetizers, ground transportation, floral arrangements, music, photographer and complimentary toasting glasses, champagne and or other gifts from the host.  Many companies will offer several packages from the ceremony only, to convenience packages with 4-6 of the most often requested services.  Taxes and gratuities are often not included in the package.   Be sure to read the fine print for any extra fees and requirements.

3. One Stop Shopping: Couples decide to elope because they want a wedding that is quick and hassle free, however – if you are going to marry in a state or location where you are not a resident – it can become a bit more complicated. The best elopement packages offer an “Officiant” or “Coordinator” to help with applying for your marriage license.  They have  knowledge on the state marriage license requirements plus other logistical advice.  As the local contact in that state, the Officiant or Wedding Coordinator should literally be your “resident expert” and available to answer any questions that you may have.

4. Service Discounts: When choosing your wedding elopement package, inquire about any discounts from other local service providers that they may have. For example, is ground transportation to and from the airport or to and from the ceremony location included? If it is not, can they send you info on a business that may offer a discount for the referred service?

5. Lodging: You may be eloping, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t invite guests and family members to witness your ceremony. Oddly enough, there are some smaller establishments that are unable to accommodate more than a handful of guests. If you and your spouse have decided to invite more than seven to ten people to take part in your ceremony, make sure you check with the inn or bed and breakfast to inquire about the number of people they are able to handle.

Whether you are planning to have 10 or 40 guests or an intimate ceremony with just you and your spouse, your wedding day should be a special moment.  If you are seriously considering eloping, also visit www.ElopetoNewEngland.com for a wide variety of affordable New England elopement packages.
